I'm on a macbook pro mid 2012 and that runs windows 8 64 bit. apple has a walkthrough for how to bootcamp online and the only really hard part is formatting a usb which once you find a walk through very easy. I recently bootcamped my laptop for college (thank god just saw my mathlab is pc) and its easy the only thing you need to buy is windows 8 or 8.1 or whatever. I have heard of other mac users who have bootcamp using the demo. Oh ok that makes more sense! I always played sims 3 on a mac and the graphics are amazing though! Since both macs and pc's have the same graphics cards anyways. For those you are primarily looking at desktops.

You really need a dedicate graphics card which the vast majority of Apple products or PC laptops don't feature. I imagine even Sims 3 won't play well on many Macs. Most Macs use integrate graphics cards and will play games terribly. That said, depending on your Mac it may not be worth it. It reboots the computer in PC mode and you have nothing different than a Dell. This makes it MUCH slower!īootcamp does NOT emulate. The emulation is done by software, what is normally done by hardware. Parallels/Virtual Box will 'emulate' a graphics card for drivers. Macs have the same graphics card as PCs (at least they have for sometime now). Oh ok since macs have different video cards than the required ones for the sims 4 demo then it will probably not be able to be played using parallels, virtual box, and even boot camp. Same! The sims 4 is for both mac & pc but ea hasnt announced when the mac version will come out yet!

I would just really like to know if there has been any other info released about the Sims 4 on Mac computers, and what the pattern has been like in the past Sims base game releases? Have the PC and Mac releases been separate before? Also, I was one of the lucky people to receive the CAS demo early, but I can't play it because it only works on PC! (it's very frustrating!) I saw the release date is September 2 for North America (where I live) and I would be more than happy to preorder the download but it says on the website 'PC Download', and on their forums and everything they say they have mainly been focusing on the PC version of the game and have no info about the Mac version yet, while its confirmed it will be available at some point.
